Name: Braden
Element: Wind
Why should you be chosen?: I think I should be chosen because I am an active roleplayer with a lot of time and muse to spend on my sites. Braden is a very well developed character of mine and I plan to use some side-plots with him later once the story is more developed. If I get the leader position I will make sure my herd don’t stray off too much.
A sample RP:
A single droplet of water fell from the ever-graying sky onto the velvety gray nose of the resting colt beneath it. A few months old and he was already sturdy on his feet and dashing about the area with his mother and aunt like any other foal would be. The wind brushed against his wild mane and he shivered with the winter cold closing in around him. The area of the wind was already cold enough without winder approaching for the first time and this youngster had not yet had the pleasure of meeting the early morning frost or the blankets of snow already waiting to fall. He had been warned of the dangers that the winter would bring – lack of food, freezing, tempers running high and of course the never ending fight for shelter amongst the herd. However his mother did not tell him about anything other than the dangers in wait. Winter was yet another predator on his back but he was determined not to let it beat him.
With his teeth almost chattering he raised a bandy leg and marched over towards his mother who was standing close by his aunt and cousin in attempt to warm himself up. He felt like complaining about the weather to somebody, how could Mother Nature be so cruel? He never did anything to harm her! Maybe she just wanted to get him back for that time he stole his cousin’s chestnuts he had found while rummaging… but still, this was a little over the top! He snorted causing a small cloud of steam to puff out of his nostrils and disappear again. His mother raised her head slowly to nuzzle him softly and offered him a drink of milk, which he accepted happily. The warm liquid was great at warming him out but he was somewhat struggling to suckle it now that it was drying up. He eventually gave up and took refuge between his aunt and mother to gather all the warmth he could.
“Mama, why is it so cold! I can hardly feel my nose!” He complained loudly to her as they started moving in the direction of the herd. She chuckled softly down at him but didn’t look at him directly as there was nothing she could really do for him. This was the ultimate test, live the winter or die – it was as simple as that. The small snowy colt didn’t quite understand what his mother was trying to tell him, would it really be this cold for almost 4 months? His tail would freeze off! He was hungry already. He was hoping there would be food soon. With that he followed his mother into the herd to discuss plans for the great freeze that would come only days later.
Braden never did forget his first winter and as his seventh one grew closer and closer he couldn’t help but think about that winter which amazed him so much with the cold powder or the frozen water. He took a deep breath then exhaled slowly breathing steam into the morning air. With a snort he marched over towards his terrain with his head held high and his legs lifted high just as he did when he was that small colt. He could still smell the scent of the damp bark on his mother’s coat as she tried to warm him that winter… smiling to himself he whinnied and set off in a canter back to the herd which waited for him to return to them.
